New Moon in Pisces, February 28, 2025 I All Signs
A major shift on emotional, spiritual and creative level
The February 28, 2025 New Moon falls in the water sign Pisces. Water sign lunations often bring an increased sensitivity to our environment, dreams, and emotional undercurrents. Since Pisces is a mutable water sign, this New Moon promotes adaptability, surrender, and the release of old emotional baggage to make space for new beginnings.
With the lunation occurring at 9 degrees of Pisces, its energy may be especially potent for those of us with personal planets or angles in the early degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarius.
What’s interesting about this lunation is that this lunation is connected to the lunar eclipse that will take place in Pisces in august/september period of 2026. This is if we follow the gestation lunar cycle, and if you have been following my work for a while, you probably know that I enjoy connecting the new and full moons to a larger story.
If we follow the gestation lunar cycle, this New Moon in Pisces on February 28, 2025, marks the seed-planting phase of a storyline that will develop over the next 18 months and culminate with the Pisces Lunar Eclipse on August 28, 2026.
This means that whatever is emerging around this New Moon — whether on an emotional, spiritual, or creative level — will reach a significant turning point by late 2025 (First Quarter Moon) and come to full visibility or resolution in late 2026 (Aug 28, 2026).
The Pisces 9° New Moon forms a square to Jupiter in Gemini, which is significant because Jupiter is the traditional ruler of Pisces.
A square to Jupiter can bring exaggeration, overconfidence, or a tendency to take on too much — but it can also inspire big dreams, expansive thinking, and a desire to grow beyond limitations. Since Jupiter is in Gemini, a sign focused on information, learning, and communication, this could indicate a push-and-pull between intuition (Pisces) and logic (Gemini), emotions (water) and intellect (air).
With Jupiter being the ruler of this New Moon, its influence is especially strong. Jupiter squares often inflate situations, so whatever is emerging now may feel bigger than it actually is — but that doesn’t mean it’s not important.
