New Moon in Scorpio, Sun-Mars Cazimi & Mars-Saturn square

We start the new week under the influence of the intense Scorpio New Moon in opposition to Uranus (November 13th). The Moon is in its fall when in Scorpio. A planet is considered to be in its fall when it is positioned directly opposite a planet of its exaltation (the Moon is exalted in Taurus). As the exaltation is a place of awareness for the planet, the fall is a position of weakness concerning the function of the planet, including everything else the planet represents. During a New Moon in Scorpio, we tend to direct our emotions inwards, which can become intense and obsessive. With an emotional intensity and a strong need for excitement, you might create drama under stressful circumstances. 

The Moon in Scorpio also produces the need to understand feelings deeper. This is when we desire meaningful emotional interactions (more than at any other time), and shallow relationships or conversations will not satisfy us.

Scorpio's captivating nature can manifest in us being pulled into something or someone compulsively and irresistibly. However, getting to the root of any issue may seem too intense, so we might instinctively pull back. Trust issues might be at stake in order to feel safe. 

This new Moon is opposite Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is still retrograde, which suggests that the current life situation could remain unresolved or uncertain. We might have to put more effort into managing a set of events. Uranus is the planet of the sudden and the unexpected, so we may see some unexpected events or circumstances that feel out of our control. Rebellious energy may run high, and we must be careful with how we use that. The New Moon and Uranus opposition can cause emotional upsets and relationship disturbance. Careless or rashed responses and emotionally based decisions could turn something of minor significance into complete chaos. This is not the right time to make significant decisions, especially about relationships, as our intuition is unlikely to work accurately. 

On November 18th, there is a famous cazimi conjunction between the Sun and Mars at 26° in the fixed sign Scorpio. A cazimi conjunction is an auspicious alignment that signifies good fortune, where a planet gets infused with energy and power to help it do its job. This conjunction begins a new 2-year synodic cycle between these two planets. Mars is about action, drive and forward momentum. Scorpio is about transformation and intense emotions, which means our attitudes, efforts, and actions are passionate, powerful and purposeful during this time, making us capable of outstanding achievements. You can pursue something with unbelievable focus and determination if you set your mind on it. Mars in Scorpio gives us the strength and the ability to recover quickly no matter how often we fail -- here we have the effect of the phoenix rising from the ashes, which is very much connected/associated with the sign of Scorpio.

The day after Mars enters Sagittarius, it will square Saturn on the 25th. This influence will already be felt a couple of days before this square is exact and a few days later. This tense alignment brings back energies that started in April 2022, when this cycle began. Mars-Saturn cycles last approximately two years; this is the final square in this Mars/Saturn cycle before the new cycle begins in the second quarter of 2024. Expect delays and obstacles. Before we dive deeper into what this aspect means, let's consider some keywords connected to Mars: drive, anger, desire, passion, and competition.

In contrast, Saturn stands for boundaries, structure, discipline, order, responsibility, limitations and fear. In a square to each other, there is a tension between these attributes. A square aspect forces manifestation and action. The conflict represented by a square aspect often implies we may be forced into a position of settling for one planet's energies over the other, which may require effort and energy. If we avoid making the choice, we may experience ongoing tensions and conflicts well into the future. However, facing the challenge that emerges now may result in a stimulating period of progress and a positive change...
