All right, so let's dive straight into it..
The New Moon in Scorpio 9° on November 1, 2024, sets the stage for deep emotional transformation and emotional renewal. Scorpio's energy, known for its intensity, invites us to confront our inner emotions and release what no longer serves us. This New Moon forms a harmonious trine with Saturn retrograde in Pisces, encouraging us to combine emotional depth with a sense of responsibility and structure. Saturn's influence helps ground Scorpio's emotional intensity, guiding us to use this transformative energy with patience and wisdom, especially in areas where we need to revisit old lessons or commitments.
At the time of this New Moon, a Grand Kite formation occurs, creating a powerful flow of energy. It is essential to note that the Grand Kite formation during the New Moon is largely water-dominated, creating a deeply emotional and intuitive energy flow. This celestial pattern enhances the potential for growth and achievement, helping us align our emotional needs with practical actions. The Grand Kite brings an opportunity to channel the transformational energy of the New Moon into focused goals, giving us the momentum to manifest our intentions with precision and clarity.
The powerful addition of Pluto at 29° Capricorn as the grounding force of this Grand Kite brings transformative energy into the mix. Pluto 29° amplifies its influence, signaling a critical point of change and deep transformation, especially in matters related to power, authority, and long-term structures.
Interestingly, both rulers of the New Moon in Scorpio—Mars (traditional) and Pluto (modern)—are positioned at 29°, creating an incredibly intense and transformative energy surrounding this lunar event. The 29°, also known as the anaretic degree, represents a critical point of culmination, completion, and sometimes crisis. The planets at 29° are finishing their journey through a sign, carrying the highest expression of that sign's energy while preparing for a significant shift into the next.
Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio, represents action, drive, and assertiveness. In Cancer, Mars is emotionally driven, protective, and sometimes reactive. When Mars reaches the 29° degree of Cancer, it indicates a culmination of emotional or domestic tensions that have been building. This degree heightens the need to take decisive action related to emotional security, family matters, or personal boundaries, but there may also be a sense of urgency or instability as Mars prepares to leave Cancer and enter Leo.
Pluto, the modern ruler of Scorpio, represents transformation, power, and deep psychological processes. Pluto at 29° Capricorn marks the completion of a long period of societal, technological, and intellectual transformation. This placement emphasizes the culmination of collective and individual shifts in how we approach power, innovation, and social structures.
What Does This Mean for the New Moon in Scorpio?
The combination of Mars and Pluto both at 29° during this New Moon adds a layer of intensity and urgency to this lunation. The New Moon in Scorpio is already a time for deep emotional transformation, shedding old layers, and rebirth. With both Mars and Pluto at critical degrees, this New Moon becomes a pivotal turning point, where the need for transformation is undeniable, and this lunation marks a point where change is not just encouraged but necessary. It's a time to release what no longer serves and step into a new phase of empowerment, driven by both personal courage and collective responsibility.
As Mars enters Leo on November 4th, 2024, it brings a bold, passionate energy that fuels confidence, creativity, and a strong desire for self-expression. Mars in Leo emphasizes the power of leading with one's heart and taking risks for what feels truly meaningful. Mars in Leo encourages us to seek out recognition, respect, and validation, making it an ideal time to pursue goals with enthusiasm and courage. Driven by a desire to make an impact, this energy can inspire us to approach life in a way that feels both authentic and expressive, often leading us toward creative outlets, leadership roles, or endeavors that allow us to showcase our unique talents.
This transit also amplifies themes of romantic passion and loyalty. Mars in Leo has a flair for the dramatic and brings a warm intensity to relationships, prompting bold displays of affection and grand gestures in love. There's a sense of generosity that accompanies this energy, fostering loyalty, devotion, and a willingness to give freely of one's time and energy to those we care about. However, this strong desire for admiration can also lead to challenges, particularly if pride or ego overshadow collaboration or humility.
As Mars stations retrograde in Leo on December 6th, we'll enter a period of reflection and reassessment. During this time, the usual outward drive of Mars in Leo may turn inward, encouraging us to consider how we assert ourselves and whether our actions align with our deeper values. This introspective period may reveal areas where we need to recalibrate our sense of self-worth, re-examine creative pursuits, or address unresolved issues related to pride or competitiveness—more about Mars retrograde in the December 2024 Astrology Newsletter.
On November 15, 2024, Saturn stations direct in Pisces 12°, marking a significant shift in the energies surrounding discipline, boundaries, and spiritual growth. Saturn governs authority, discipline, and the structures that uphold order, so when it turns retrograde, it often brings to light the inefficiencies, outdated practices, and issues that need reform within government, corporate, and social frameworks. In addition, since Saturn's retrograde began, we've been called to internalise our approach to responsibility, particularly in areas related to compassion, intuition, and emotional boundaries. With Saturn moving forward, we can apply the lessons learned during this retrograde period, bringing structure and commitment to our spiritual practices, emotional resilience, and dreams.
Later that day, the Full Moon in Taurus 24° offers a grounding, stabilising energy amidst the shifts Saturn's station brings. Full Moons are times of culmination, and in the practical, earthy sign of Taurus, we're encouraged to evaluate what truly sustains us, both materially and emotionally. This lunation illuminates themes of security, value, and abundance, inviting us to release anything blocking our sense of stability or fulfillment. It's a powerful time to focus on creating a balanced foundation in life, one that nurtures both our physical needs and our inner peace.
This Full Moon is conjunct erratic Uranus in Taurus, bringing powerful, unexpected shifts, particularly in areas connected to security, stability, and physical resources. This conjunction brings strong, disruptive energy that could impact global financial markets, leading to volatility in sectors connected to technology, sustainability, and resources. Shifts in stock markets or currency values may prompt us to rethink our approach to financial stability, reflecting the influence of Taurus over wealth and material resources.
This conjunction could bring breakthrough advancements in sustainable farming or renewable energy, while also potentially triggering extreme weather events or geological disruptions, encouraging collective reflection on how we sustain the planet. Alongside these shifts, technological innovations could emerge, particularly in areas related to clean energy, digital advancements, and sustainability, reshaping traditional industries and prompting society to adapt to new paradigms.
On a personal and collective level, this full moon may serve as a wake-up call, inspiring us to release stagnant habits and adopt more resilient, future-oriented mindsets.
When Pluto re-enters Aquarius on November 19th, 2024, and settles there until 2043/44, we're entering a transformative era defined by innovation, collective empowerment, and profound societal shifts. Pluto is the planet of deep transformation, power dynamics, and rebirth, while Aquarius governs humanity, technology, social progress, and the ideals of equality and freedom. Together, these energies signal a period when society is likely to undergo significant changes in how we understand power, structure, and individuality within the collective.
In Aquarius, Pluto challenges the traditional hierarchies and systems that have long governed society. This energy pushes us to question authority and to seek a more decentralised approach to power. Pluto in Aquarius amplifies the voice of the people, making it a time when social justice and human rights take center stage. This influence is likely to inspire shifts toward equality and may bring forth reforms that aim to dismantle systems of oppression and create fairer, more inclusive societies.
Technological innovation will also play a prominent role under Pluto in Aquarius. We can expect major advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology, as well as the expansion of digital spaces and virtual realities. Pluto's transformative energy will likely drive technological breakthroughs, but it will also force us to confront the ethical and moral implications of such rapid advancements. The next two decades may lead us to redefine the relationship between humanity and technology as we face questions about privacy, artificial intelligence, and the potential consequences of automation on jobs and daily life.
While Pluto in Aquarius promises progress, it can also bring disruptions as outdated systems resist change. Pluto's transformation process is often intense, requiring us to confront and dismantle what is no longer achievable. Periods of conflict or resistance may arise, especially as the old structures are pushed aside to make way for the new. This is a time that calls for resilience and adaptability as society grapples with issues of power and freedom, privacy and connectivity, and individuality within the larger whole.
Ultimately, Pluto's long journey through Aquarius will reshape our values, leading us toward a future that embraces innovation, equality, and a shared vision for humanity. This era invites us to surpass old limitations and to imagine a world where progress serves everyone, creating a more enlightened and interconnected society.
The final event I wanted to cover in this newsletter is Mercury's retrograde starting on November 26th in Sagittarius 22° until December 15th (Sagittarius 06°). During this time we will enter a reflective period focused on belief systems, communication styles, and our approach to knowledge and exploration. Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius brings a chance to reassess how we express and share ideas, particularly those rooted in our philosophies or visions for the future. Mercury in this expansive, truth-seeking sign invites us to question and revisit what we take for granted or consider absolute in our beliefs.
This retrograde may create a sense of pause or confusion around topics like travel, education, and the pursuit of wisdom. Plans for travel or study may face delays, and misunderstandings in communication are more likely, especially when discussing big-picture ideas or values. This transit can lead to philosophical debates and may stir up misunderstandings if people hold on too tightly to their viewpoints. It's a time to listen more, reflect on differing perspectives, and consider how we express our personal truths without imposing them on others.
By December 15th, when Mercury stations direct, we'll ideally feel more connected to a refined and genuine understanding of our values, ready to communicate with greater clarity and openness.
